BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - Beaufort County deputies say the man charged in connection with a deadly shooting Monday morning is now facing additional charges because he allegedly pointed a gun at investigators as they tried to arrest him.
Terrance Morgan, 30, is now charged with three counts of pointing and presenting a firearm in addition to the murder and attempted murder charges he was already facing.
Deputies say Morgan shot and killed 26-year-old Medicus Watson during a dispute over a card game and also wounded one other man.
When investigators went to Morgan’s house Monday in Grays Hill with arrest warrants, deputies say Morgan pointed a handgun at them while standing in his yard.
Morgan then ran, threw the handgun, and was later arrested, according to Beaufort County deputies. He was served with the additional arrest warrants at the Beaufort County Detention Center Tuesday morning.
Officials say Morgan’s handgun came back stolen out of Port Royal.
