SULLIVAN’S ISLAND, S.C. (WCSC) - Effective immediately, you’re no longer allowed to smoke or vape on the beach or public property on Sullivan’s Island.

Town council members voted unanimously Tuesday night to put the ordinance into law.

Officials say public properties like public schools, health care facilities, government buildings or theaters fall under the ordinance.

If you’re caught vaping or smoking in those areas you could be fined $25.
