CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Lowcountry hospitals have released recent numbers of healthcare workers that have tested positive for COVID-19.

Officials with the Medical University of South Carolina said four more of its workforce in the Charleston area has tested positive for the coronavirus, bringing the total to 38 employees.

Roper Saint Francis said it’s had three members of its healthcare workforce test positive, one of which has already been cleared to return to work.

One was recently reported, and two were previously reported. Roper officials said the workers do not necessarily deliver direct care to patients.

Officials with Trident Medical said they are not releasing information regarding employees testing positive for COVID-19.
