CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The Charleston Police Department is investigating an early-morning shooting Sunday in downtown Charleston that left four people, including a bystander, wounded.

Police said the shooting happened in the 20 block of Cannon Street at a short-term rental where a party had been advertised on social media.

A police officer patroling the area of St. Philip and Morris Streets at approximately 2:28 a.m. heard what sounded like multiple gunshots, an incident report states. Police found a vehicle with multiple shooting victims inside.

Four people were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Charleston police.

Charleston police say three of the victims, ranging in age from 18 to 20, were shot while attending a party. The fourth victim, a bystander, was shot while walking her dog nearby.

Police are looking for suspects in the shooting.

Police say there are no ongoing threats to the community.
