Police investigate drive-by shooting at King Street restaurant

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Charleston Police continue to search for leads in a Sunday morning drive-by shooting in downtown Charleston.

Police say the incident was reported in the 300 block of King Street at approximately 11:08 a.m., an incident report states. Witnesses said a person in a vehicle fired multiple shots at the CO Restaurant.

Police found three bullet holes were visible in the front window.

An employee of the restaurant said there were employees inside at the time the shots were fired but said no one was hurt.

Police spokesman Charles Francis said it appears to be an isolated incident and not related to the recent protests or riot.

“There is no ongoing threat to the community,” he said.
