GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCSC) - Georgetown County Emergency Management officials say they have received multiple reports of “loud booms” Friday.

The reports have come in from the Pawleys Island, Litchfield and Murrells Inlet areas, the agency said on its Twitter account.

“It has been determined that several military aircraft are conducting training manuevers just offshore and are most likely the cause of the loud noises,” their post states.
