MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCSC) - Officers say in just two days they have issued 82 speeding citations on two highways in Mount Pleasant.

Highway 17 and I-526 were targeted by an ongoing state-wide law enforcement speeding blitz that police are calling the “Southern Shield”.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department advises that drivers, “Continue to watch your speed, and wear your seatbelts!” in a tweet released Friday.
