Coroner names man killed in Georgetown shooting

GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WMBF) – An investigation is underway after a man was killed in a shooting Wednesday night in Georgetown, according to officials.

Officers were called to the 1800 block of Gilbert Street around 9:30 p.m. and found the victim lying on the ground, police said.

According to Georgetown County Coroner Kenny Johnson, the victim has been identified as Terrence Pinckney, 28, of Andrews.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday at the Medical University of South Carolina, Johnson added.

Authorities are continuing to process evidence and develop leads, and the investigation is ongoing.
