Police: 1 dead after shooting in Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCSC) - The Georgetown Police Department says they are investigating a shooting that left one person dead in the city of Georgetown.

Officers say they first responded to the scene in the 1800 block of Gilbert Street at around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in reference to a shooting.

When they arrived at the scene, police say they found one man lying dead on the ground.

Investigators say they are processing the scene and canvassing the area, but the GPD will release more information as it becomes available.
