WATCH: Trident Medical welcomes physician’s assistant returning from Iraq

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Trident Medical Center says they welcomed the return of a physician assistant who had been serving overseas with the South Carolina National Guard.

Korey Plewinski returned to a “red carpet” Veterans Day welcome after eight months of service in Iraq and Kuwait, Trident Health System PR and Communications Vice President Rod Whiting said.

Plewinski is a captain in the South Carolina National Guard and served in the 4/118 Combined Arms Battalion, 30th Brigade, Whiting said.

“It’s good to be back to the trees, the grass, the water and the very kind people here,” Plewinski said.

Although the staff at Trident Medical were happy to have their physician assistant back, Plewinski’s wife Brooke says their two children are especially excited to have their dad home.
