MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCSC) - Ben Sawyer Boulevard has reopened after crews cleared downed electrical lines late Thursday night.

Officials with the Mount Pleasant Police Department announced the road had reopened shortly after 10 p.m.

Earlier tonight, Ben Sawyer Boulevard at Center Street was shut down in both directions due to the downed electrical wires.

In addition, the Ben Sawyer Bridge was also shut down as crews worked to clear the lines.
