CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Charleston County says the deadline has extended for residents to give their feedback on the county’s plans for widening Main Road on Johns Island.
Charleston County Public Works Department has extended the public comment period for the public meeting regarding Main Road Corridor Segment C: Bohicket Road Improvements – Maybank Highway to Betsy Kerrison Parkway through Dec. 16.

Plans state that the area the county wants widened is the section Main Road or Bohicket Road from Maybank Highway to Betsy Kerrison Parkway.
Charleston County said earlier in a statement that the purpose of the “Main Road Segment C Project” is to reduce traffic congestion and increase capacity on Bohicket Road and provide opportunities for bicyclists and pedestrians to safely travel throughout the project area.
