CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation says that a disabled vehicle is backing up traffic on I-26 East.

Reports say the disabled vehicle has closed the left lane of I-26 East near Exit 211 toward Aviation Avenue in North Charleston.

Traffic estimates show it will take almost an hour to get from Summerville to downtown Charleston and traffic cameras show most of the congestion is from University Boulevard to the merge of I-526.

Rivers Avenue is suggested as an alternate route.
