CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Charleston Police are looking for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run incident Wednesday night.

The crash involved a car and a pedestrian and happened at approximately 9:40 p.m. Wednesday near the 1200 block of Folly Road and the intersection of Fort Johnson Road, Inspector Karen Nix said.

Police said the pedestrian suffered significant and serious injuries and was transported to the hospital.

Police say the involved vehicle fled from the scene toward Folly Beach.

Witnesses described the vehicle as a black, newer model sedan. Police say it should have damage on the front passenger side of the vehicle and is likely to have a broken windshield from the impact.
