SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) - Some Dorchester County students may be eligible for pay if they help their school district’s maintenance team set up plexiglass barriers in the classroom.
Dorchester District 2 sent word to parents Monday that seniors who have a free period at the end of the day could receive $8.50 per hour to work with the district’s maintenance team at the end of the school day and after school to install dividers.
The hours, according to the message, are Monday through Friday from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Senior students who are interested can reach out to Emily Duplantis via email at eduplantis@dorchester2.k12.sc.us.
The announcement came the same day the district announced it would return to all virtual learning for at least two weeks beginning Jan. 4.
District officials said they hope to be able to return to their hybrid model by Jan. 19.
