No injuries reported in Sunday night Isle of Palms house fire
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Investigators were working to determine the cause of a fire at an Isle of Palms home late Sunday afternoon.
Dispatchers say calls about a fire on Seagrass Lane came in at roughly 5:42 p.m.
Isle of Palms Fire Chief Ann Graham said fire crews knocked down a fire in the home’s attic at 6:22 p.m. and said the fire was completely extinguished by 8:06 p.m.
Graham called the effort an “excellent display of teamwork,” noting that no injuries were reported.
Isle of Palms Police Chief Kevin Cornett said one person who was inside the house at the time of the fire made it out of the home and spoke with authorities at the scene.
The homeowner was staying with friends after the fire, Graham said.
A portion of the roadway was blocked off while firefighters put out the fire.
The Sullivans Island and Mount Pleasant Fire Departments assisted Isle of Palms firefighters at the scene, Graham said. Charleston County EMS and the Isle of Palms Police Department also responded.
