CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The Southeastern Wildlife Exposition for 2021 has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Tuesday, organizers said they had remained cautiously optimistic about hosting the event in February and consulted with organizations to do the event which would follow health and safety guidelines.
But, they said with COVID-19 cases continuing to rise in the country, organizers were facing decisions that they said would compromise the safety of patrons and the integrity of the event.
“We met with our Board of Directors to assess the current state of public health and review the plans and outlined safety protocols for this year’s show,” SEWE organizers said. “After extensive evaluation and deliberation, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 Southeastern Wildlife Exposition.”
SEWE officials released the following information on refunds for the event.
