COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCSC) - South Carolina’s women’s basketball program has been placed on pause following the results of Wednesday’s COVID-19 testing the school announced on Thursday morning.

Because of the positive test, contact tracing and quarantining of people in the program, Thursday night’s scheduled home game against Georgia has been postponed.

There has been no makeup date set as of yet.

The women’s team goes on pause just over a week after the men’s program came out of their pause that lasted close to four weeks because of positive COVID-19 tests.

South Carolina’s next scheduled game is on Sunday at Kentucky.
