Police: Woman shot in broad daylight while sitting in car parked at shopping outlet

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The North Charleston Police Department says they are investigating after a woman was shot shortly before noon while sitting in her parked car.

NCPD Deputy Chief Scott Deckard says North Charleston Police officers responded to calls about a shooting in the parking area at 4840 Tanger Outlet Blvd.

When officers arrived, they say they found a female victim saying she had just been shot in her vehicle.

The victim was suffering from gunshot wound to the upper torso and Deckard says she was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The suspect was not located at the scene and Deckard says there is no suspect description to release at this time.

At this point in the investigation, NCPD says the facts and evidence show that this was an isolated incident.
