Police searching for suspect in Georgetown murder

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The Georgetown Police Department says they’re looking for a suspect involved in a stabbing that killed a man Friday night.
Police say they’re looking for Montrez Cyrus Simmons, 38, in connection with the murder.
They say he entered a home on Cribb Court and proceeded to assault and kill a man with a knife.
That’s up the road from Georgetown Middle School, Georgetown High School, and the Food Lion on North Fraser Street.
Officers say they were dispatched to the home at around 11 p.m. Friday night in reference to that stabbing.
They say the man who was stabbed died as a result of his injury.
Investigators say they’re processing the crime scene and interviewing witnesses, and will release additional information when it becomes available.
Simmons has an arrest warrant for Murder and is considered to be armed and dangerous, police say.
