Man arrested, charged with attempted murder after shooting stemming from argument

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - A man has been arrested after police say he shot a man following an argument in Charleston in December.

Court Documents say Rayquon Roper shot the man after an argument broke out in a parking lot.

On December 18, police responded to the area of President Street and Bogard Street in reference to a shooting. When officers arrived, police found a victim laying on the side of Bogard Street with a gunshot wound to the torso. The victim was taken to an area hospital.

The victim told authorities that he and several others were standing in the parking lot of a grocery store when Roper and another man began to argue. According to the victim, the argument escalated to a point where they started a physical fight and Roper pulled out a pistol and fired once, hitting the vicitm. Roper then reportedly left the scene.
