BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The Berkeley County Government says overnight road closures will begin Sunday night for phase two of the Clements Ferry Road Widening Project.

They say the closures along Clements Ferry Road will begin 8 p.m. Sunday and will occur nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Thursday.

The closures will occur in up to 1 mile increments from Jack Primus Road to the Wando River Bridge, they say.

Berkeley County officials say lanes will be closed so Banks Construction can work on pavement marking, installation, tree clearing activities, and other construction operations in connection with the Clements Ferry Road Widening Phase II project.

They say the roadway will remain open to traffic during these operations, but drivers can expect traffic delays and are urged to be aware of equipment and crews working.

There will be traffic control signs, reductions in speed limits, and message board information, they say.

Crews say all work is weather dependent.
