DD4 to extend mandatory virtual learning

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Officials with Dorchester School District 4 say they are extending the mandatory virtual learning decision that was made over winter break.

Originally out of fear that Coronavirus would spike with the winter holiday season, the district preemptively decided they would suspend all in-person learning for the week following Winter Break.

DD4 says they have decided to extend this moratorium on in-person learning and ask all students to not report to school buildings.

Virtual learning has been extended to Jan. 22 and officials say all district offices will operate remotely.
