Food Lion recalls ground beef sold from Beaufort location

BEAUFORT, S.C. (WCSC) - Food Lion is recalling in-store prepared ground beef from a single location, the grocer announced Monday night.

The recall involves four varieties of in-store prepared ground beef Monday at the 10 Sams Point Road:

• 73% Fresh Ground Beef (all sizes)
• 80% Fresh Ground Chuck (all sizes)
• 85% Fresh Ground Round (all sizes)
• 93% Low Fat Ground Beef (all sizes)

The beef under the recall was produced Monday and carries a sell-by date of Jan. 13.

Food Lion officials say the meat is being recalled because it may contain foreign material.

Customers who purchased the affected product should not consume it and may return it to their local Food Lion store for a refund equal to double the purchase price in accordance with Food Lion’s “Double Your Money Back Guarantee.”
