COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCSC) - The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control reported fewer than 2,700 newly confirmed cases of COVID-19 Monday.
DHEC’s report included 2,644 new confirmed cases, 35 new probable cases, 14 new confirmed deaths and one probable death.
That brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Carolina since the start of the pandemic to 326,588 and deaths to 5,315, according to data from the agency.
Monday’s report included data from 10,198 test results with a percent positive of 25.9%.
DHEC noted that the lower numbers of new and probable cases were because of “an internal systems issue.” The agency said it is actively working with their vender to correct the problem and it will update numbers on the county dashboard when the correction is made.
