MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCSC) - The Charleston County School District confirmed Tuesday five students were disciplined Friday following an argument over “a flag with a political message.”
The students all attend Lucy Beckham High School, according to CCSD spokesman Andy Pruitt.
One of the students displayed a flag with a political message that included depictions of weapons. The other four students were disciplined for their participation in an argument related to the image and message on the flag, Pruitt said.
Pruitt confirmed the flag’s political message was President Donald Trump’s name.
He did not confirm details about any penalties the students face.
