ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office hopes someone recognizes a tattoo and help them identify a man’s body discovered earlier this month in a freezer.

“We have a distinct tattoo and also a clothing description that we’re hoping can be used to make an identification,” Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said. “If anyone recognizes any part of the description, please get in touch with us.”

Deputies describe the tattoo as a “possible rising sun above a man’s face.”

The tattoo was on the man’s right shoulder. Clothing collected during an autopsy was a size 34 PacSum blue denim stacked skinny jeans, short sleeve T-shirt and a brown Guchi belt.

A group of teens found the body inside a freezer in a home on Jan. 3.

The teens told investigators they wanted to check out what they had heard was a “haunted” house located on Woodview Circle located about three miles east of Norway.

Anyone who recognizes the tattoo is asked to call the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office at 803-534-3550 or Crime Stoppers at 888-CRIME-SC. Callers using Crimestoppers are encouraged to utilize the P3 Tips app or submit a web tip by going to CrimeSC.com and click Submit a Tip.
