MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - The iconic Myrtle Beach SkyWheel is missing some pieces as it undergoes a makeover for its upcoming 10th anniversary.
Officials with the city of Myrtle Beach said removing the gondolas and dissembling the wheel is expected to take three weeks.
Drivers can expect traffic to be impacted due to a crane that will be in the northbound lane of Ocean Boulevard.
Officials said drivers will be detoured to 14th Avenue North, Withers Alley and Mr. Joe White Avenue from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.
SkyWheel officials later Thursday shared a first glimpse at a piece of the attraction being removed on social media.
