NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Authorities have identified a woman who was killed in a “domestic-related” shooting in North Charleston on Friday.

The Charleston County Coroner’s Office identified the woman as 32-year-old Jalisa Catlin from North Charleston who died at 12:04 p.m.

North Charleston police say their detectives are interviewing a suspect.

Police responded shortly before 12:05 p.m. to the 5700 block of Dorchester Road where a shooting had been reported, Deputy Chief Scott Deckard said.

A woman who had been shot died of her injuries, he said.

Police say the incident is domestic-related, but they have not released the identity of the suspect or the relationship with the victim.

“At this point in time, we need to be praying for all parties involved in this tragic incident,” Police Chief Reggie Burgess said. “It is my understanding that there were juveniles present during the shooting and I cannot imagine what is going through their mind.”

The investigation is ongoing.
