Georgetown Co. man charged with drug, weapons crime

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. (WCSC) - The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office says they have arrested a man with several drugs and a gun.

Sheriff Carter Weaver says Mathew Jenkins, of Pawleys Island has been charged with trafficking heroin 3rd degree, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine 3rd degree, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine within ½ mile of a park, and two counts of possession of a pistol by a violent felon.

Deputies report that Jenkins was arrested Monday, in relation to on-going investigation by agents from the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Vice Unit.

Weaver says, “These people who carry weapons and deal drugs are a danger to our community, and I need all of Georgetown County’s help to find them and help us get them off our streets and out of our neighborhoods.”
