GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a stolen truck they say is connected with a man’s killing Wednesday.

Deputies responded to the 7800 block of Gapway Road where they found the victim, identified as 69-year-old William Butler Jr., according to Georgetown County Sheriff’s spokesman Jason Leslie.

Deputies learned a truck was reported stolen from Butler’s home and is believed to be connected to Butler’s death, Leslie said.

The truck is a red 2003 Chevrolet S-10 Z71 with License Plate V31609.

Deputies shared a truck they say the family provided of the vehicle, but they say it likely will not have lumber in the bed as pictured in the photo.

Anyone who sees the truck is asked to call 911.
