CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - One last day of dry weather before another storm system gets ready to bring more rain to the Lowcountry. Morning sunshine will give way to clouds today with highs in the mid to upper 50s this afternoon. The chance of showers will start to increase tonight as an area of low pressure begins to move our way. A warm front will try to move through the area overnight but how far north it moves is in question. This will set up a sharp gradient in temperatures across the Lowcountry tomorrow. Temperatures could range from the 40s inland to the 60s along the coast tomorrow morning. The evolution of this front will also play a role in whether or not thunderstorms move through the area Thursday afternoon and evening. Right now, it appears the best chance of thunderstorms, including one or two strong storms, will be just to our south. Any shift northward in the computer models and we may have to watch for a few strong storms here locally. This storm will begin to push offshore Thursday night but rain will likely linger into Friday morning. Drier air will move in by Friday afternoon and the weekend looks to be nearly cloud free.
