CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men’s basketball team (8-9, 6-4 CAA) has added a home game to its 2020-21 schedule.
The Cougars will now play NCAA Division II Columbus State (5-6) on Saturday, Feb. 20 at 1 p.m. (ET) at TD Arena. With four games remaining in the Colonial Athletic Association regular season, the team’s road games at Hofstra this weekend were postponed due to COVID-19 protocols within the Pride’s program.
The game will not be ticketed and is free admission to the general public. However, the capacity at TD Arena will remain at a reduced 30 percent capacity.
CofC Athletics’ clear bag policy is still in place and fans are required to wear face coverings (over the nose and mouth) as a condition of all guest entry and throughout TD Arena, unless actively eating or drinking.
“This late in February, it is a critical time for our team’s development,” CofC Head Coach Earl Grant said. “We thought it was important to stay with a routine and find an opponent to compete against.”
Columbus State, also nicknamed the Cougars and located in Columbus, Ga., had its last two games postponed due to COVID-19 protocols within their opponents’ programs. CSU last defeated Lander University, 70-69, in a Peach Belt Conference game on Feb. 15.
This will be a first-time meeting between CofC and Columbus State. Saturday’s game will be live streamed on FloSports (subscription) at: https://bit.ly/2ZN9NQq with live statistics available at: www.CofCStats.com
