COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCSC) - South Carolina Education Lottery officials say a Georgetown man teared up when he learned he won $1 million prize.
The lottery called the player, who did not want to be identified, to tell him a non-winning ticket he entered into the Million Dollar Mega Multiplier Second-Chance Drawing had been chosen to win the jackpot.
He hung up and called his wife at her work, but encouraged her to stay at work.
“I went to work,” the man told lottery officials. “I couldn’t even function. It was a feeling that I’d never had before.”
He said he is definitely smiling more.
“I’m enjoying life,” he said.
