GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCSC) - The Goose Creek Police Department says they responded to a scene of a pedestrian who was hit by a car on Highway 52.
Officers say they responded to the twin bridges area of Highway 52 in Goose Creek at 6:12 a.m. Wendesday.
Police responded to a motor vehicle accident they say involved a 40-year-old pedestrian. GCPD says a preliminary investigation reveals that the man was in the median of Highway 52 when he attempted to navigate across the travel lane and was struck by oncoming traffic.
The victim was transported, in critical condition, to Trident Hospital, but GCPD says no citations have been issued at this time.
GCPD says this investigation is still ongoing.
Traffic cameras were showing massive slowdowns on Highway 52 in Goose Creek Wednesday morning.
The slowdown was reported near St. James Avenue and Red Bank Road, and the crash was reported north of this location.
