Shooting leaves one dead at North Charleston hotel

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The North Charleston Police Department responded to a fatal shooting at a North Charleston hotel late Tuesday night.

North Charleston Police Deputy Chief Scott Deckard says officers responded to the 4000 block of Rivers Avenue at around 9:12 p.m. Tuesday.

When they arrived, Deckard says police found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, but the victim died from his injuries.

Witnesses reported a police presence at the Siesta Motor Lodge at 4044 Rivers Avenue where officers placed police tape around portions of the hotel.

Police say there is not yet suspect information to release.
