KINGSTREE, S.C. (WCSC) - The town of Kingstree confirmed Thursday afternoon it has temporarily closed Gilland Park.

A post on the town’s Facebook page blames the closure on a bridge being compromised and unsafe to cross.

The South Carolina Department of Transporation is aware of the problem “and has promised to fix it in a timely manner,” the post states.

The park is located along the banks of the Black River.
