JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Air Force officials reported that there were no injuries following an incident involving an aircraft at Joint Base Charleston.

Video provided by viewers showed what appeared to be an aircraft on fire at the base on Friday afternoon.

On Saturday, officials with JBC said a C-17 Globemaster III caught fire while parked on the ground, but base personnel were able to quickly extinguish the fire and prevent further damage to the aircraft.

According to a release, seven crew members and one passenger were returning from an overseas mission when the incident occurred.

JBC officials did not specify what exactly happened on the plane, but said that an investigation is underway into the incident.
