Police: No devices found following bomb threat at Beaufort Walmart

BEAUFORT, S.C. (WCSC) - Officials with the Beaufort Police Department said no devices were found at the Beaufort Walmart after a bomb threat was received Friday night.

The Walmart on 350 Robert Smalls Pkwy. was evacuated after a bomb threat was received around 7:30 p.m. According to police, the call stated that there were devices inside and outside of the Walmart.

Beaufort police with the assistance of the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office evacuated the business.

Crews with the EOD from the Air Station were brought in, and K-9 units cleared the building and found no devices, according to Beaufort police. The store has been turned over to management and was allowed to re-open.

Police officers said there is an active investigation aimed at identifying the suspect or suspects responsible for the hoax call.
