BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - State Education Lottery officials say a customer who stopped by a Goose Creek hardware store for help with a repair wound up $300,000 richer.
The customer screamed, “I won! I won!” after playing the Go Green scratch-off game, according to lottery spokesperson Holli Armstrong.
The woman bought the ticket at Duncan Ace Hardware on Redbank Road and overcame odds of 1 in 780,000 to win the six-figure prize.
Armstrong says there is one $300,000 top prize remaining.
The store received a $3,000 commission for selling the ticket.
