Police investigate report of vandalism

A woman told police officers that she awoke and saw a newly planted tree outside her home was lying on its side. In addition, she said several other trees on the street were in a similar condition.

The victim said she reviewed video footage that showed two individuals vandalizing her tree.

Police said the footage showed one of the male suspects pulling the tree down then jumping on it causing it to snap. The officer said the video showed a second male subject possibly filming the incident.

The responding officer said he recognized the second suspect from a previous incident on America Street in February.
