VIDEO: Pair of incidents slowing afternoon commute

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - Two people were transported to the hospital with minor injuries after authorities say a car chase suspect crashed his car into two other vehicles on College Park Road in Berkeley County Monday afternoon.

The crash happened around 3:15 p.m. on College Park Road near Treeland Drive.

Cpl. Tyler Tidwell with the Highway Patrol said a 2017 Dodge was fleeing from Berkeley County deputies and traveling westbound on College Park Road when the driver disregarded a traffic light and struck a 2009 Chevy that was making a left turn from Treeland Drive onto College Park Road.

According to Tidwell, the Dodge then continued on, crossed the center line and hit a 2004 Ford pick up truck head-on.

The driver of the Dodge and a passenger of the Ford were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash impacted traffic on College Park Road and on I-26.
