Officers: Early morning altercation leads to downtown shooting

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The Charleston Police Department says an altercation in downtown Charleston early Sunday morning resulted in a shooting.

The incident occurred at 3:30 a.m. at King and Reid Street on Sunday morning.

Authorities say the shooting occurred after an altercation between a group of individuals.

Officers say they were on scene with the group prior to the shooting.

Authorities say the injuries sustained are not life threatening.
