GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - Midway Fire Rescue says crews responded to two boating incidents on Saturday.

Authorities said Water Resources responded to a boat emergency call out of the DeBordieu Boat Landing for an individual in the water having a medical emergency around 7:40 p.m. on Saturday.

According to Mark Nugent with Midway Fire Rescue, the individual in the water was put onto a fire department boat, taken back to the dock and transported to the hospital in stable condition.

Nugent says crews then responded to a second incident with a boat that was grounded on a sand bar.

Authorities say one individual was treated on scene for an arm laceration and fire department boats transported four people back to the boat landing.

Midway Fire Rescue says both incidents are under control.
