One person killed, two injured following 2-vehicle collision near Summerville
DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly two-car collision Thursday afternoon that happened as one vehicle tried to pass the other.
Highway Patrol officials said it happened on Mallard Road near Summerville just after 4 p.m. According to Sgt. Sonny Collins, a 2008 Dodge Charger and a 2002 Buick 4-door were traveling west on Mallard Road.
Collins said when the Buick attempted to make a pass, it and the Charger made contact sending both vehicles off the road.
The driver of the Buick was killed and a passenger was transported to a local hospital. The driver of the Charger was also transported to the hospital.
Troopers are continuing the investigation.
