1 killed in fatal auto-pedestrian crash in Awendaw

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - Officials with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office say one person was killed in a fatal auto-pedestrian crash Friday night on Highway 17 near Awendaw.
Deputies say the incident occurred around 6:40 p.m. Friday night near Thompson Hill Road.
Charleston County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Andrew Knapp says the driver of a Honda sedan reported hitting a pedestrian walking in the road.
“The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene,” the sheriff’s office said.
The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Bureau is investigating.
