CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Authorities said no one was injured after a garbage truck caught fire Wednesday morning.

The fire closed a section of Sam Rittenberg Boulevard near Gardner Street while the fire was contained.

St. Andrews Fire Department Chief Fire Marshal Kevin Berkel said the call came in around 7:47 a.m. Wednesday.

Berkel said the fire started from an undetermined mechanical problem with the truck. Crews were able to contain the fire to the truck.
