The Citadel hit a season-high five home runs in the series finale at Western Carolina, but it was not enough as the Bulldogs fell, 17-9, at Hennon Stadium.
In a game that was interrupted by a nearly two-hour rain delay, it was Western Carolina who was able to outlast The Citadel in 7-6 game that went 13 innings.
The Citadel honored its seniors prior to Sunday’s game, but the Bulldogs were not able to continue the momentum as they fell, 3-2, in a tight contest to VMI inside Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.
The Citadel homered for the third-straight game as Travis Lott hit a solo shot in the fourth inning in the Bulldogs 12-3 setback to NC State Saturday afternoon at Doak Field at Dail Park.
