Teenaged suspect in robbery, sexual assault caught

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A teenaged suspect accused of robbing and sexually assaulting two women was caught on the same street where the crime allegedly happened.

Police say 17-year-old Cephus Mitchell came up to two women with a gun on North Romney Street in the early hours of June 16th, robbed them, then assaulted them.  He was arrested by US Marshals Tuesday afternoon.

He's been charged with armed robbery, criminal sexual conduct in the first degree, and possession of a firearm.
