GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCSC) - A man has been arrested and charged with the April robbery of a Chinese restaurant, officials said Monday, but they have not connected him to any of the almost 20 other Asian restaurant robberies yet.
Jabulani Nnamdi, 27, has been charged with the April 8 armed robbery of the China Chef on St. James Avenue.
According to police documents, Nnamdi was arrested on Thursday, Dec. 2 at his Marilyn Street residence following a confidential tip. That informant told police Nnamdi confessed to the robbery.
According to the incident report, two black males entered the China Chef on April 8 and took money from the register, robbed a juvenile at the restaurant and exited through the back door.
Police say that Nnamdi matches the description provided by victims at the restaurant.
Officials with the Goose Creek Police Department have not confirmed if Nnamdi is a suspect in any of the recent Chinese restaurant robberies.
